INKSTER (WXYZ) — A man has been charged in a fatal crash involving an ice cream truck in Inkster.
The incident happened June 27.
Clarence French was arraigned Sunday, June 30 in Romulus District Court.
He's charged with driving with a suspended license causing death and reckless driving causing death. Each charge carries a 15-year felony.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Carlysle and Middlebelt on Thursday, June 27.
According to police, French allegedly disregarded a red light and ran into the ice cream truck. The truck then tipped over and caught fire. The truck driver died.
French is being held on a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
