The man charged in the connection with a deadly shooting at a bus stop in Highland Park is scheduled to be sentenced today.
Police say Malcolm Bernard Benson, 50, robbed and then fatally shot a man last year.
Benson was out on parole after having served 20 years for second degree murder.
He was released from prison in January 2015.
The victim was 59-year old Stanley Carter, we're told he was waiting at the bus stop on his way to work. It happened on Woodward near Tennyson in Highland Park.
Investigators believe the shooting was random and say robbery may have been a motive.
