A Macomb Township man is facing attempted murder charges after he broke into a Clinton Township home Monday and fired shots at the homeowner.
Almondo Cortez Martin, 29, is charged with attempted murder, first-degree home invasion, felony and larceny firearm and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
The homeowner, John Broderick, said he came home for a routine lunch break when he found the suspect standing in his kitchen.
"I walked in and said what's going on?," Broderick said. "He didn't answer; he started at me. I turned around and ran and before I know he's poppin' rounds like 8 times."
Police said the suspect tried shooting Broderick multiple times through the garage door, but Broderick was not injured.
The alleged home invasion happened at about 12:45 p.m. Monday at Broderick's home on the 44000 block of Heydenreich Road.
Martin was arraigned Tuesday at the 41-B District Court in Clinton Township.
