DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man smashed into a Detroit fire station Friday evening after being shot while driving on the city's west side.
Around 10:51 p.m., police say the man suffered a gunshot wound to his back and lost control of the vehicle, hitting the engine bay doors at the firehouse located on West Grand Boulevard.
Medics transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment. He has been listed in critical condition.
The shooter is unknown at this time, according to officers.
Police are investigating the shooting.
