TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Troy police say a 37-year-old Royal Oak man has died after being hit while crossing the road earlier this month.
According to police, it happened on Oct. 4 at 8:42 p.m. on Coolidge Highway north of Maple near Somerset Blvd.
Police say a 74-year-old woman from Royal Oak was going north when she struck a pedestrian trying to cross Coolidge.
He was rushed to the hospital and died on Oct. 16 due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Police say the driver had the right-of-way as there is no legal pedestrian crossing at the location of the crash, and neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in the crash.
They say the driver did stop at the crash, and she had one passenger. Neither was injured.
