DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit-area man has been charged in the October 2017 slaying of a 34-year-old pregnant woman who was struck by a vehicle on the city’s southwest side.
Lawrence Mills III, 32, of Garden City, was awaiting arraignment Wednesday for first-degree murder and assault causing miscarriage or stillbirth, according to the Wayne County prosecutor’s office.
The victim suffered multiple injuries and was found on a sidewalk. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mills was arrested April 24 and charged with first-degree murder in the December 2017 slaying of a 59-year-old Detroit woman, prosecutors said.
He was arraigned April 26 in that case and ordered held without bond. He faces a probable cause hearing Thursday and May 13 preliminary examination.
The Associated Press was unable Wednesday to leave a message seeking comment from Mills’ attorney.
