(WXYZ) — A man was shot and dragged into a ditch in Fort Gratiot Township Sunday, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office.
Police say Deputies were first called to a possible hit-and-run incident in the 4000 block of Keewahdin Road.
When they arrived, it was determined that the victim, 28-year-old Kevin Anderson Junior of Port Huron had not been struck by a vehicle.
Upon examining the victims, deputies determined that he was shot on the side of the road, then was dragged into a ditch and left for dead.
Police believe the shooting occurred several hours before Anderson was found in the ditch by homeowners.
The citizens told deputies they had heard a noise shortly before 4 a.m. and looked out a window and saw a car parked facing eastbound on Keewahdin Road. They then saw the vehicle do a u-turn and park facing westbound. They told deputies they believed the car had struck a deer or guardrail.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Haley Bonner at 810-987-1728.
