ADDISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Oakland County Sheriff's deputies found the decomposing body of a 61-year-old woman at a man's home in Addison Township.
Deputies, along with the Addison Township Fire Department, responded to the 1800 block of Rochester Road for a welfare check; officials say a neighbor was contacted by the victim's husband who requested medical attention for himself.
Officials say deputies found a woman with "obvious signs of decomposition" inside the residence.
The victim's spouse was present and taken to the hospital for medical attention due to insect infestation.
Authorities say Oakland County Animal Control removed several animals from the residence, including nine cats, one dog and a bird. The home was condemned by the local ordinance officer based on conditions inside.
The incident is still under investigation.
