Officers saw the pickup honking its horn consistently in the back lot, and tried to stop the truck, but he kept going with the horn honking.

The vehicle went south on Stephenson and crossed 14 Mile at a high rate of speed, and offers terminated the pursuit. They were driving away from the scene when they saw the vehicle driving south in the northbound lanes of Stephenson and trying to get back to the hotel.

Several police cars surrounded the truck as it tried to exit the lot, but the driver was able to get away. He went west on 14 Mile and stopped in the road before fleeing on foot.

The Royal Oak Police Department located the suspect on the roof of a garage wearing only underwear around 7 a.m.

The man was identified as Brenden Ray Graves, from Fraser, and admitted to taking pills and drinking liquor.

After being arrested and refusing a blood alcohol test, the suspect said several times in the holding cell, "you need to open door and run fas fast as you can," and also reached through the meal port and tried to open the door, later pulling down a light from the ceiling.

He was charged with Flee and Elude 4th degree and Malicious Destruction of a Building less than $200 for the damage to the light. An Operate While Intoxicated warrant may be requested pending the results of the blood draw.
