DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating a serious injury single vehicle crash that happened overnight in Detroit.
On Jan. 3 around 12:15 a.m., troopers responded to southbound I-375 at Jefferson for reports of a crash.
A preliminary investigation found the male driver was traveling on southbound I-375 when he lost control in the curve to westbound Jefferson Avenue. Police say the vehicle crashed into the concrete median barrier near Larned Street.

The driver was unresponsive when EMS and troopers arrived at the scene. Police say the driver was wearing his seat belt.
The road was temporarily closed at southbound I-375 for the investigation.
Police say alcohol use is suspected. The driver has been listed in critical condition at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
