Man in custody after shooting at mobile home community in Roseville

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A man is in custody following a shooting at mobile home community in Roseville Friday night.

On May 29, Roseville police responded to a report of a person being shot at the Leslie’s Mobile Home Community around 9:25 p.m.

At the scene, officers found that a 35-year-old male resident of Roseville had been shot once in the upper body. Witnesses reported the suspect had fled the scene and were cooperating with police.

Officers gave aid, and the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and listed in stable condition. Officers learned that the 26-year-old suspect and victim knew each other and the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute.

The Roseville Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and began an investigation.

They learned the identity of the suspect and began attempting to locate him. Around 11:20 p.m., the suspect surrendered to police at the Roseville Police Department.

The handgun used in the incident was recovered at a residence in a neighboring jurisdiction. The suspect is currently being held at the Roseville Police Department pending further investigation.
