Man involved in Monroe County crash in stable condition after being ejected from vehicle

FRENCH TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) — A 29-year-old man is in stable condition at a hospital after the vehicle he was driving became airborne and he was ejected while traveling in Monroe County.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a man, who appeared to be speeding and under the influence of alcohol, was involved in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.

The crash happened just after 1:30 a.m.

Deputies say the 29-year-old Carleton resident was driving a silver 2009 Dodge Caravan traveling westbound on Bluebush Road when the caravan suddenly traveled off the roadway. The vehicle then entered a ditch before impacting a driveway culvert and becoming airborne.

The driver, who deputies say was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was taken to Beaumont Trenton Hospital and listed in stable condition.
