CADILLAC MICH., (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police arrested a man who allegedly stole a television from Walmart before breaking into a Cadillac, Michigan home in his underwear.
The bizarre string of events occurred Feb. 4. Troopers say they responded to a home invasion call on Cecil Road in Haring Township at 10 a.m. Residents in the home say a man entered in his underwear carrying a television. There were three children inside at the time, ages 15, 14 and 12. When the children's parents arrived home, they removed them and called police.
When Michigan State Troopers and Wexford County Deputies arrived, they found the suspect, 27-year-old Anthony Billett, of Cadillac, in his underwear and a sweatshirt only, which was on backward. Officers say the suspect was also bare-foot and had scratches and blood from his knees down.
Upon further investigation, troopers located a 50-inch television inside the home, which Billett had allegedly stolen from Walmart. Billett also allegedly stole clothing from Meijer prior to stealing the television.
Billett was taken to Wexford County Jail. The case has been turned over to the Wexford County Prosecutor, who is charging him with one count of home invasion, one count of receiving and concealing stolen property, and two counts of retail fraud. Billett is also being charged as a habitual offender.
The suspect's arraignment was on Feb. 5. Billett's bond was set at $115,000.
