Detroit police are investigating after a man was injured following an explosion in his mailbox.
Police say the man is now recovering in the hospital and may have to have surgery on his hand.
We're told the incident happened around 3:45 a.m. on Hartwell near Outer Driver and the Lodge.
Police aren't sure what the explosive was, possibly a firework, they say.
The bomb squad is investigating.
