One person was injured in a wild car crash on Detroit's west side shortly after midnight Monday.

It happened in the 15800 block of Biltmore. That's near the Southfield Freeway and Puritan Avenue.

The car slammed into a light pole and then smashed into a tree on someone's front lawn. The man who lives at the house told 7 Action News that he heard a loud crash, and then went outside to find the driver crawling away from the accident.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say the guy may have been going more than a hundred miles an hour and that he may have been drinking.
