DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 52-year-old man who got into a minor car accident was robbed and carjacked by men in the vehicle involved.
The carjacking and robbery happened in the area of Gratiot near Mt. Elliot around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 12.
The 52-year-old was driving southbound on Gratiot when he got into a minor vehicle accident with the suspects, who were in a silver, unknown model vehicle.
When the victim and suspects pulled over to look at the damage from the accident, the three suspects demanded money and keys to the victim's burgundy 2018 Nissan Rogue. The suspects suggested they had a weapon, although a weapon was never seen, police say.
One suspect fled the scene in the victim's vehicle while the other two left in the unknown silver vehicle.
