The man involved in the Nautilus Sub and Pizza armed robbery and assault in Westland has been arraigned, according to police.

Court officials say 48-year-old Mark Daniel Chapman, of Ecorse, received several charges including: armed robbery causing serious injury, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder by strangulation and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Chapman reportedly left the owner of the shop with serious injuries following the robbery.

He has been placed in jail without bond, police say.

He is due back in court on Nov. 8 for a probable cause hearing.
