SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — We are learning more about the man that Southfield police say was shot and killed during a carjacking in his own driveway.

His wife, Ebony Hudson, shared a Gofundme account to raise money for funeral expenses for Fredric Hudson, 48. It describes her husband as a “great father, friend and husband.”

People who know him describe him as a true gentleman, and someone who loves to bowl.

Police say a carjacker targeted him as he tried to get into his car in his driveway Sunday around 8 p.m., shooting him in the chest and thigh. He lived on Primary Drive in a subdivision near Northwestern and Franklin in Southfield. He was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.

Southfield police tell 7 Action News they are following new leads, but at this point they are still searching for his 2013 Toyota Tundra and the killer.
