DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 33-year-old man is dead and a 41-year-old woman was injured in a shooting in Detroit. The two met up to buy a pair of skates outside of a gas station.
The incident happened in the 19000 block of 7 Mile Road around 5:30 p.m.
The suspect fled the scene following the shooting. Witnesses in the area flagged down a transit police officer. Police were able to locate a person of interest in the area of 8 Mile and Woodward where a short foot pursuit took place before the person of interest was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
