Man lights box of fireworks inside Detroit gas station causing damage to property

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a suspect wanted for malicious destruction of property who set off a box of fireworks inside a gas station on the city's west side.

The incident happened Thursday, Sept. 3 just before 10 p.m. Police say the suspect walked into the gas station in the 19800 block of W. McNichols. Police say the suspect walked into the location and placed a box of fireworks on the floor. He's seen on surveillance video lighting the fireworks and then fleeing the location on foot.

The fireworks caused damage to the ceiling tiles. There were no injuries, police said.
