One man is on a personal mission to make a difference all year long, not just during the holiday season.

Jon Gemelke used to be homeless and is a recovered addict.

Now, he's looking out for people on the streets of Colorado Springs, Colorado by giving them clean socks. He gives away about 250 pairs of socks each week, one pair per person.

He says it's something that's needed the most, but one of the things that gets donated the least.

"I had met some people out here that have shown me what it is to not have socks, and dry socks. Some of them have lost digits. They have a few toes missing," said Gemelke.

Jon estimates he personally hands out more than 13,000 socks every year.
