DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 24-year-old man attending a candlelight vigil for a shooting victim on Detroit's east side was shot overnight.
Police say a scout was dispatched to the 11000 block of Payton around 2:18 a.m. for a shots fired report.
Witnesses told the officer they were holding a vigil for a shooting victim when someone in the crowd fired several gunshots, striking the 24-year-old black male victim in the leg.
The victim was privately taken to hospital and listed in stable condition.
Right now, police say the suspect is unknown.
