Man wanted in connection to attempted arson on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Police Department needs help finding and identifying a suspect wanted in connection to an attempted arson on the city's west side.

On Feb. 10 around 1:00 a.m., the suspect pictured above entered a Greenlight location gas station, opened a can of lighter fluid from the isle and began pouring it on the floor in front of the counter.

Police say the suspect then struck a lighter threatening to set the gas station on fire. After failing to light the fire, the suspect ran off from the gas station.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5-feet 6-inches, 140 pounds wearing a dark-colored jacket, light-colored pants and white shoes.

No one was injured during the incident.
