New Hampshire station WMUR-TV is reporting that a man who was shot and killed by police in Peterborough, New Hampshire on June 21 has been identified as a missing man from Michigan.
The station reports that Lane Lesko, 19, was shot and killed on route 136 during a confrontation with police.
An autopsy confirmed that he died of a single gunshot wound.
Police told the station they were trying to stop Lesko when his car crashed. They did not reveal what lead to the chase.
Authorities say they were investigating his involvement with a string of thefts in the area.
WMUR reported that New Hampshire authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led to Lesko’s death.
