We’ve seen power outages, messy roads and downed trees and though the storm is over, clean-up efforts are just beginning.
A massive tree came crashing down St. Clair Street Tuesday night, smashing cars and homes and leaving a neighborhood shaken up.
“We were sitting watching the TV- we heard something, thought it was a loud car crash, it lasted for about 30 to 40 seconds,” Sonia Gladney said.
It was a shock to Gladney seeing the massive tree she remembered growing as a little girl, crashing down onto her home.
The tree smashed her niece’s car and her own SUV was also smashed by the tree which did major damage to her house.
“It tore off the whole front gutter and the whole front porch is ruined,” she said. Unable to walk out her front door and with no homeowner’s insurance, she’s hoping for help to put her world back together.
“We’ll see what we can do in terms of getting some type of assistance to repair the little damage that has been done,” she said.
