WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — On Feb. 14, Amazon announced that it will not build a corporate headquarters campus in New York.
The headquarters were canceled due to mounting opposition from lawmakers, who scrutinized the idea of giving subsidies to one of the richest companies in the world.
After the news broke, Warren Mayor Jim Fouts appealed to Amazon on his Facebook page for a headquarters in Warren.
Fouts offered many reasons for Amazon to pick Warren, including affordable housing, clean neighborhoods and a business-friendly administration.
