LAKE ORION, Mich. (WXYZ) — Canterbury Village in Lake Orion is holding a special event this weekend with a special Santa.

"Deaf Santa" will be at Canterbury Village on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Deaf Santa started in 2010 and he appears every year in November and December for deaf children or children with hearing problems.

It was started by Scott Powers, Elf CEO, who was frustrated when he was a kid because he couldn't communicate with Santa and tell him what he wanted for Christmas.

Santa will be available to take pictures and sign with kids. Pictures are $8 with a portion of the proceeds donation to charities.
