Meeting tonight to discuss Farmington schools

Posted

The possible school closures in Farmington Hills are a big concern.

And, tonight, the last public forum will be held for the community to speak up and try to convince the district to keep the schools open.

If it's anything like the last four-public forums, it will be emotional.

Parents, teachers and students filled the rooms and sounded off, saying they understand budget and enrollment are declining, but they don't want to see any of the schools closed, especially Harrison High.

Now, there are six schools in the Farmington School District that could possibly be closed or repurposed - which could happen beginning next year.

They are;
*Beechview Elementary School
*Kenbrook Elementary
*Warner Upper Elementary
*Dunckel Middle School
*Harrison High School
*Highmeadow Common Campus

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Farmington High School.
