HOLLY, Mich. (WXYZ) — At Great Lakes National cemetery in Holly, a large group of metro Detroiters have come to honor the legacy of America’s heroes.
Some of those in attendance have lost several family members to combat in Korea, WW II and other conflicts.
For those coming to remember, the ceremony is a way of healing and recalling the bravery that we must never take for granted. The Memorial Day event reminds us all that a better way of life comes at a high cost.
During the ceremony in Holly, there were several passionate speakers and awards given to high school students for various achievements. The pride felt by the community, is best exemplified in the event which has brought people together for more than 60 years.
