Men accused of beating 70-year-old with car radio in metro Detroit

Wayne police say a 70-year-old man is still recovering at the hospital after he was punched, kicked and struck with a car radio last weekend. 

Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 23 in a bar's back parking lot near W. Michigan Avenue and Newberry Street. 

Two men are now facing charges in the assault: Ryan Fletcher, 35 of Garden City, and Jacob Rose, 23 of Garden City. 

The men were arraigned on charges including assault with intent to commit murder. 

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for August 8 at 9 a.m. and a preliminary hearing is set for August 15.
