Livonia police are asking residents to avoid Merriman Rd. near 5 Mile due to what they say is a "large water main break."
According to police, Merriman is closed from Five Mile to Jamison in both directions because of multiple breaks in the area.
It's not clear when the road is expected to open but it could be this evening.
You can use Farmington or Middlebelt to get around the break.
