If you're looking for a new furry friend this summer, Macomb County Animal Control hopes you'll stop by.
Officials say their building is now beyond capacity with cats and dogs and it's putting a strain on the available food.
There are more than 100 animals waiting to find a forever home. Dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes have brought the building to capacity.
Chief Jeff Randazzo says the summer months tend to slow things down in terms of adoption, but he's hoping to speed them back up as food resources get more strained.
The shelter is now asking for a lower donation than usual this week for adoptions: $50 dollars for all dogs and just $25 for cats.
If you're looking to donate food, you can drop it off between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
