Grosse Pointe Farms Police are sending out an alert tonight to homeowners in the area. Someone targeted two homes Thursday night and early Friday morning.
Police say the suspect tried breaking into a home in the 250 block of Hillcrest around 11:00 pm Thursday.
The person attempted to bust in through the back of the house, but he couldn't get in.
Police used tracking dogs to go after the thief, but did not find anyone.
Shortly after, a thief broke into a home in the 350 block of Chalfonte.
That suspect was able to get in through the back of the house, coming from the nearby golf course.
The guy stole a bunch of stuff and took off.
Police are not saying how many people they are looking, or if they're connecting these cases.
