(WXYZ) — Metro Detroit-based company is donating tens of thousands of masks to Detroit teachers and students this week.

The company, based in Commerce Township, will donate 60,000 custom-made masks to the Detroit Public Schools Community District on Wednesday morning.

Owned by Fred and Mark Hajjar, who also founded, MaskMarket came about in May when the two saw a demand for face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were one of the first to offer customized face masks.

Since May, the company has also donated a specially-produced five-filter mask to a frontline worker for every mask sold. So far, they have donated about 90,000 masks.
