Metro Detroit honors veterans this Veterans Day

Posted

Today, we celebrate Veterans Day, honoring all men and women who've served our country in the armed forces.

Across metro Detroit, businesses and organizations are honoring our vets.

Later this morning, Detroit police are hosting a parade and lunch at the American Serbian Memorial Hall on Van Dyke near 8 Mile. The parade starts at 10 a.m.

The City of Detroit is holding a ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.

There are many other events happening across the area today in Farmington Hills, Orion Township, Royal Oak, Ann Arbor and Canton.

Businesses are also getting into the spirit to give back to our veterans.

Check out the deals and freebies here.

Residents can also pay their respects by participating in GreeLight a Vet. You just change one light to green outside of your home to show support.
