Milford police say a 25-year-old man is facing charges after his 6-month-old daughter was found dead in February.
According to police, they responded to the home and found the infant unresponsive.
The man, identified as Keith Allen Brown, told police the girl, identified as Sophia Brown, fell asleep on a mattress on the floor. According to police, Keith appeared to be drunk and had a blood-alcohol level of .31, nearly four times the legal limit.
Sophia was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead.
According to the medical examiner's office, Sophia died from position/compression asphyxia.
Police say Keith fell asleep with Sophia on the couch between his arm and body. Something happened which led to her not being able to breathe and she eventually died.
Keith was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and second-degree child abuse.
He was arraigned on those charges and given a $500,000 bond.
