A neighborhood favorite is making a comeback!

Two metro Detroit moms are reopening the Dairy Park in Hazel Park. The ice cream shop has been a staple in the community since 1954.

Bridget Raies and Jennifer Sexton will re-open the ice cream shop on Saturday, April 29.

For generations, many families in and around Hazel Park chose the Dairy Park as their favorite for ice cream and other treats.

The Dairy Park has seen different owners over the years, but one couple owned and operated the business for 40 years and became very well loved in the community. Ralph and Margaret Thatcher were known for their generosity, family values and great personalities.

Bridget and Jennifer hope to keep that tradition running as they reopen the Dairy Park. They will be adding their own personal touches as well.

While ice cream is always a big hit, they will also specialize in 'childhood favorites' like elephant ears, edible cookie dough and much more! The Dairy Park will even offer a beverage favorite Towne Club soda.

The Dairy Park is located at 21839 John R. Road in Hazel Park.
