Metro Detroit parents warned after 3 separate cases of child luring

Authorities are warning parents after reports that a man attempted to lure children in three separate cases in metro Detroit.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is working with the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Hamburg Township Police Department on the cases.

The Washtenaw County incident took place on August 27 near Orchard Street and Portage Lake in Dexter Township. In that cased, a 9-year-old boy was riding his bike when the driver of a white cargo van exited and told him to get in the van. A second person came out of the van, but did not say anything to the child. The boy sped off on his bike and immediately went to tell his mother.

In all three child luring incidents, the suspects targeted young white boys between the ages of 4 to 12 years of age.

The driver of the van is described as a white man, approximately 20 years old, no facial hair, thin build, wearing a black sweatshirt and grey sweatpants.

There was no description of the passenger of that vehicle.
