(WXYZ) — A popular Detroit businessman and food entrepreneur has passed away.
La-Van Hawkins passed away on April 6.
He was known as a notable fast-food franchise and restaurant owner, at one point owning a collection of Pizza Hut locations in metro Detroit, in addition to a Burger King and restaurant Sweet Georgia Brown.
His visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at James H. Cole Funeral Home at 2624 W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Great Faith Ministry International Church at 10735 Grand River in Detroit. For more information on funeral arrangements, click here.
