You can take home a piece of movie-making magic. A movie studio in Pontiac is hosting a garage sale of items used in films shot here in Michigan.
Buy some buyers are giving it mixed reviews. Rick Bastuba is a memorabilia collector.
He said, "Movie props are nice to have."
He's been collecting memorabilia for the past 25 years.
"We actually waited for a good hour before we actually came in and if you look there's hundreds of people," he added.
People are hoping to get their hands on things used in the films like Batman vs. Superman, Transformers, and Oz the Great and Powerful.
But many shoppers tell Action News there were slim pickings and nothing was labeled.
Gloria Ossowski said, "Very disappointed. I should've known, people coming out were telling us there is nothing in there. There is nothing from movies, it's just old office furniture that's pretty beat up."
Rick explained, "There is nothing in there from Oz, there's nothing in there from Batman vs Superman."
Colleen Niebauer bought a dress for $10 but she doesn't know what film it was worn in.
"I'm happy to have had checked it out. It was nice but I think they could've put what movies the items were from," she said. "That would have helped. It would have been an incentive to be like, 'oh I got this from this movie.'"
Rick spent $175.
He thinks a shirt he bought is from the movie Real Steel and now has to do his homework to confirm that.
"This could be a jackpot," he explained. "This could be worn by Hugh Jackman, so now what we have to do is go home, go through the entire movie, frame by frame 'ooh I like that' and 'oh there it is.'"
If you want to check out the sale for yourself, it continues Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
