DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit campaign headquarters for Michigan's 3rd House District was vandalized ahead of a community event.
On Thursday evening, a suspect was caught on camera breaking China Cochran's office's glass windows ahead of a Friday event where Cochran would distribute personal protective equipment to local residents.
The event will proceed as scheduled on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
“It is deeply distressing that someone would damage property at a time in which the community should come together for the sake of everyone’s safety and health,” China Cochran said Friday. “Despite this potentially politically motivated attack, our team remains focused on serving our neighborhoods and the people who call our community home.”
An investigation is underway.
