The chance that you will hit a deer this fall is going down, according to new data from State Farm.
Michigan drivers are 3.1 percent less likely to collide with a deer than they were last year, the insurance company said.
Your odds are 1 out of 97, which is above the national odds of 1 in 169.
Right now, Michigan is ranked 10th in the country for the most deer collisions, and the national cost per claim is $4,135, up six percent from 2014.
The top three months where a driver is most likely to hit a deer in the state are November, October and then December. That's due to mating and hunting seasons.
West Virginia tops the nation with a driver having a 1 in 44 chance to hit a deer, while Hawaii is at the bottom with a 1 in 8,765 chance.
