(WXYZ) — The Michigan Humane Society recommends pets not be left outside for any length of time during frigid temperatures.
Small or short-haired dog breeds should be brought in when temperatures get below 15 degrees.
Large and thick-coated breeds need to be brought in when it's below zero.
Cats should be kept indoors or brought into a garage.
Also, remember to check your car engine before you leave for work – cats like to seek shelter there for warmth.
