DAVISON, Mich. (WXYZ) — A man accused of spiking his wife’s cereal with heroin is heading before a judge Tuesday morning.
It’s a case out of the small town of Davison, Michigan drawing plenty of attention years after a woman’s death.
Today, the judge decides whether there is enough evidence to move forward in this case. This is a long-time coming – all the way back in 2014, Christina Ann-Thompson Harris died.
At the time of her death, the medical examiner classified her death as an accidental overdose.
But this year, the prosecuting attorney in Genessee County told 7 Action News that there’s a belief her husband, Jason Harris, spiked her cereal with heroin in an attempt to “get rid of her.”

He announced charges back in August.
"One thing I will not do is arbitrarily charge anyone with any crime — I want to thank Christina’s mom and dad for their patience, it’s been a long hard road to get here… we want justice for Christina," said Prosecutor David Leyton.
Christina was just 36 years old at the time of her death.
Friends always contended she never used drugs, and as more digging was done — co-workers of Harris began to tell police her husband had been looking for a hit man.
Jason Harris has been held without bond.
And here’s where the bombshell evidence comes: frozen breast milk that had no traces of drugs. Investigators say it proves she wasn’t a regular user — and that the drugs found in her system were ingested in a shortened amount of time.
Harris goes before a judge this morning at 9 a.m.
