POKAGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a 32-year-old man has died in a motorcycle crash after he apparently sped away from an attempted traffic stop in southwestern Michigan.
The Cass County sheriff's office says Ryan Glen Grady of Dowagiac was pronounced dead at the scene of Monday's crash in Pokagon Township. Investigators say he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control at a curve and crashed into several trees. The crash is under investigation.
The sheriff's office says police in Dowagiac had tried to stop a motorcycle before the crash was reported, but the motorcycle sped away. Dowagiac police didn't chase the motorcycle.
