The Fourth of July is Tuesday and people around the country will sport the red, white and blue to celebrate Independence Day.
According to a study, people in Michigan may not sport the colors as much as other states.
The study from WalletHub found Michigan is one of the least patriotic states in America. The Mitten State ranks 43rd in the country, just ahead California and behind Pennsylvania.
WalletHub compared the states with 13 indicators of patriotism, including military engagement, civic engagement, enlisted military population, percent of adults who voted in the 2016 presidential election, AmeriCorps volunteers per capita and more.
It also found that states that lean predominantly right are more patriotic than states that lean left.
The top 10 states are:
- South Carolina
- North Carolina
