With winter on its way and most people choosing to stay indoors, a new study found Michigan is in the top half of fattest states in the United States.

According to the WalletHub study, Michigan is the 18th fattest state in the country.
To determine these statistics, WalletHub analysts took into account 19 key factors which range from share of obese and overweight population to sugary-beverage consumption among kids and more.
Michigan ranks 18th in "obesity and overweight prevalence," 19th in "health consequences" and 13th in "food and fitness."

WalletHub also found that Michigan is the 15th most obese state in the United States based on obesity rates.
