Michigan Secretary of State offices to extend hours this weekend, next week

(WXYZ) — Extreme cold forced the closure of all state offices for several days this week, and to make up for the lost time, Michigan Secretary of State offices will have extended hours this weekend and early next week.

According to the Secretary of State, the offices will be open for normal hours on Friday, Feb. 1.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, the seven SUPER!Centers, located in Clinton Township, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Livonia and Pontiac, will stay open three hours later until 3 p.m.

Then, on Monday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 5, all branch offices will stay open two hours later until 7 p.m. The Department of State Information Center at 888-SOS-MICH (888-767-6424) will also stay open during the extended hours on Monday & Tuesday.

Late fees will be waived for the days the state government was closed, and additional staff will be on hand during all hours on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. The offices were closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Thursday, Jan. 31, and most of Monday, Jan. 28.
