Michigan State University is launching a new emergency system on Monday that is quicker and more efficient.
It's a one-button system, that will enable the MSU Police Department to send phone, e-mail, text and Facebook messages within minutes.
The department can use the system to send immediate messages for notification during key emergencies, such as active shootings, weather warnings and directives to evacuate campus.
The system will launch at 10 a.m. on Monday and a test voice and written message will be sent out.
