Michigan State Police are stepping up their texting and driving enforcement.
State troopers will now be enforcing the texting and driving law with undercover units, patrolling in plain sight.
They say it's a bad habit that is killing more and more every year.
All it takes is one little ring or buzz of the phone to cause a very serious accident while driving.
Olivia Cleveland, 3, was in the car with her parents when she as killed in an accident.
"We were only five miles from our house."
The driver in the other car was drunk.
Today, police from across the state came together, calling texting and driving as dangerous and deadly as drunk driving.
Olivia's parents John and Jodie Cleveland have taken on a greater mission to end distracted driving.
"It changes. It changes lives, something as simple as texting."
